Vocational training of 53 logisticians from Ostrołęka in Greek enterprises

In cooperation with „Stowarzyszenie dla dzieci „Puer in Futuro” from Wolanów, Poland we had the opportunity to organize the training in Greece for 53 students from Józef Psarski School Complex no. 1 in Ostrołęka, Poland, who are educated in the profession of logistician. 3-week training was held in April 2016, specifically in the dates of: 07-25.04.2016.

Students who participated in the internship in logistic companies enhanced a number of professional competences, including:
– the service of professional equipment,
– broadening knowledge concerning modern technologies,
– gaining the ability to use professional computer programs,
– familiarizing with specific methods of logistic planning used in Greece,
– broadening knowledge concerning effective methods of work used in logistic company,
– gaining the ability to use theoretical knowledge in practice.

Broadening of professional skills in the field of logistics was not the only huge achievement of participants, whom we could host. Due to everyday communication English, which they had to use at the workplace and to converse with training mentors they developed their linguistic competences. After three weeks of the placement they became more fluent interlocutors.

We were very pleased to observe students gaining more and mores self-esteem and openness towards others. Some of them were overcoming their personal barriers. Three weeks spent abroad at training in international environment and integration with other participants certainly pursued these achievements.

We also wanted the students to become familiar with the charm of magnificent Greece and its culture, and to integrate with local inhabitants. We hope that our organization of cultural program, which we provided, ensured that. We organized an excursion to Meteora and a cruise to Skiathos Island, including its sightseeing.

Young people visited also Athens, where apart from sightseeing of ancient Acropol they participated in the lecture „The time of Polish brand” in Polish Embassy – Trade and Investment Promotion Section, led my its employees.

Participants went also to Chamber of Commerce and Crafts in Larissa, where they could get to know what activity and cooperation of local businesses look like.

We are proud and pleased due to the fact that we could provide organization of vocational training for students from Poland. We will refer to their stay with pleasure. We hope that knowledge and skills which they obtained will influence their future professional carrier.
